Morning Traffic Jam
This morning I woke up early, showered and headed out around 7:45 in order to make it to school by 8:30. Now let me state that I'm currently enrolled in a rigorous alternative certification program for teachers and right now is the summer training. It is mandatory that we be there and we cannot be late....we could even be dropped from the program.
I hit I-35 and nothing is moving. Thinking it was just a typical accident with the rubberneckers making the lanes come to a standstill I figure things will get moving in a bit. Oy, was I wrong....turns out it was a major accident involving an 18 wheeler that was carrying explosives. They had closed I-35 in both directions and I was freaking out because I was definitely going to be late and most importantly, I had no idea how I was gonna get there.
Well I eventually made it to school 2 and a half hours later....and thankfully there were a few people just getting there as well. At least I made it there and with a good excuse. On a sad note, while waiting to get on Wurzbach Parkway I look up ahead and see another small accident and I'm like great what next? Well when I got up to it I only saw one vehicle and when I looked I saw a person who had been hit by that vehicle laying on the floor with blood coming out of their head. I certainly was not prepared to see that and then felt guilty about being upset by it. I hope that person is ok.
It's good to be home!

OMG, that's awful. I always feel bad when I think like that too.
